With the festive Christmas Eve event “Koledе Lede,” the Municipality of Kriva Palanka on January 6 marked the traditional celebration of Badnik — the day that announces the birth of Christ and is one of the most significant holidays in the Orthodox Christian calendar.
The event was enriched by a Badnik procession, in which around 300 children from both primary schools in Kriva Palanka participated, together with members of cultural and artistic societies. Carrying Christmas stars and performing traditional Badnik and Christmas songs, the youngest participants sent a strong message about preserving spiritual heritage and passing on festive values to future generations.
As part of the event, a special artistic program featuring Badnik and Christmas songs was also held, performed by students under the mentorship of Prof. Larisa Zhulina Mitovski, giving the festive atmosphere a formal cultural dimension.
